Sassia Santinos loves her life. She's carefree, financially independent and most importantly, sexually adventurous. Loving her job as an 'executive companion', she seems not to have a care in the world. But unknown to everyone, Sassia has a secret she's an assassin by the name of Valentine. Charlie is an attractive, ex-Navy engineer, who's about to be married. On the outside, everything seems fine, but internally she feels as if her life has no meaning. After her mother dies, purpose returns and ignoring her fiancé, she decides to follow in her father's footsteps. A loner by nature, Sassia eventually opens up and befriends Charlie, but after a yearlong friendship, Charlie suddenly decides she wants to become a Houston police officer. Not long after Charlie becomes a cop, someone close to her is murdered. Seeking justice, she searches for the killer and puts herself in the crosshairs. Charlie isn't the only problem on Valentine's plate. Along with the help of C.T., a professional hacker, Valentine is desperately searching for Charles 'Boogie' Jackson-a man whose betrayal nearly cost her her life. Now it's up to Valentine to not only find Boogie, but to make decision. Does she help Charlie track down the pieces to the unsolved murder; and in doing so, divulge who she is and what she does, or does she walk away like she's done so many times before?
Valentine D V Hent Books
Valentine was hot, sexy and fast paced and yet seemed like a primetime movie on Sunday nights when Sunday's use to be great TV drama night. The heroin named Charlie who was the most annoying character I had ever read. But as the reader I wanted her to have her just deserved vengeance on those that wronged her. However I didn't care for her overly zealous moral fiber that clearly made her a closet bi-curious woman. The author did a superb job of creating a female character with mixed emotions and who evoked mixed emotions. My favorite character is the villainous vixen, known as Valentine, who was actually a hero that exuded a "bad girl" disposition. And I use that term very loosely. This woman was the pistol packing, knob slobbing, sexual deviant law breaker of the century. But with all her assets, crafts and technology it was hard to believe that she was unbreakable.
Between car chases, shoot outs, explosions and a death sentence, the author had Valentine virtually walking away unscathed. Although if you sit back and reflect on the events of the book it may seem unbelievable but is easily ignored due to the intensity of each scene.
As an assassin, predicting habit is expected but Valentine predicted habit and the future. This was truly a story for television, maybe even a cable series. A page turner to read, I really didn't want to see this story end. There were a few editing mishaps but nothing that required a second look. The sarcastic banter was appropriately placed throughout the book and the sexual passages were not overly done to be misconstrued as lust or smut.
This was a well rolled out storyline with a twist at the end. I truly enjoyed the book and its characters (no matter how annoyed I got. But I could not help but thinking "Wow, this should be on TV."
You can take it as a good thing or a bad thing but I recommend you get a copy of Valentine to experience what power, money, sex, drama and sacrifice has to offer.

Valentine D V Hent Books Reviews
Can you said edge of your seat, sexy thriller??? Well then you must me talking about Valentine! I almost lost my job behind this book -). Sassia, Sassia, Sassia....what can I say but hot! She turned a tragic past into a sensual life of crime. Now normally we are conditioned to hate the bad guy but when the bad guy is shaped like Sassia, how can you?
Trained by Israel to be a cold blooded killer, Valentine makes murdered an art form along with the help of the wise cracking dispatch better know as CT. Everything would have been cool had her insatiable appetite for the fairer sex not taken over. Enter the attractive next door neighbor, Charlie. One problem, Charlie is engaged. Bigger problem, Charlie is a cop.
Can Sassia stay on track with her main target when her nose is open with Charlie or will she regret not sticking it to the cop when she gets a chance???
Get wrapped up in the twists and turns that Valentine/Sassia takes you on and be prepared for the riddles intertwined in the book. A good read and a puzzle in one!
Well I was just blown away by Valentine! This book was amazing!
Valentine a/k/a Sassia lost her father when she was 11 and her mother when she was 12. She then became an orphan and eventually was taken in by Omar. This was the beginning of the trouble! She got way too involved with him at a young age. When she met Boogie, things got out of control in her life. It is no wonder why she got to be the way she was. You will see why when you read this book.
Reading this book was like watching a movie in my mind. I went on a little getaway with my husband and read this book on the way there and on the way home and finished it up when I got home. I am the kind of person that usually gets car sick, but thank goodness for Sea Bands! I put those on my wrists and they really work. I am also the type of person that can never stay awake in the car on long trips. Well I stayed awake the whole 2 1/2 hours each way! There was so much going on in this book that there is no way I could stop reading! There was so much steamy sex and suspense in this book and it could not have been any better. I highly recommend Valentine! Another very cool part about Valentine is there is a secret message hidden. You will have to read it to find out how you can find the secret message. I have never read a book where they did something like this and it was so cool! What are you waiting for? Go ahead and order this book!
Wow! What a ride. I am not sure what I expected this book to be about but let's just say the story far exceeded my expectations. The story captures your attention from the beginning and keeps it until the end. The author does a great job of introducing you to the life of an assassin/executive companion and the people she encounters. The two main characters Valentine/Sassia and Charlie "Chuck" are who the book centers around. The story is told from these two character's perspective. It is a suspenseful ride.
I gave the book 4 stars because I would have liked the story to flow more smoothly when going from the past to the present-at times it was a bit confusing. The sex scenes were hot and steamy but at times seemed forced-once again it did not flow smoothly. I like some build up/connection even during the sex scenes. Meaning I should be able to feel the act versus just reading it (I hope that makes sense). The actual act seemed to be explained/described too fast-not enough time to savor/imagine it.
I also gave the book 4 stars because my copy (ebook version) had a lot of grammatical errors. The first couple is easy to ignore but there were several throughout the book. This is annoying and distracting.
All in all I liked the story-it definitely kept my attention. I believe as the author continues to write and develop his skills he will be one of those "must read" authors. He is already a great story teller. I will continue to read his books.
